SBMA technology to be used on two new major contracts in Turkey – July 2016

The successful collaboration between outstanding specialist anchor contractor Kasktas A.S. and SBMA Ltd continues, and has been rewarded with two major anchoring contracts in Turkey.

The first involves the support of a deep excavation for the Mahall İzmir. This will be tallest structure in the Izmir region of Turkey and will soar some 270m above ground level when completed. The project is a highly prestigious one that is technically challenging due to the poor ground conditions and the fact that the foundations reside in a seismic zone. Preliminary investigation tests have provided crucial information on the in situ bond stresses that can be achieved when good construction techniques are employed.

The second project is based in İstanbul and is known as Ferko Line,  which is a office, hotel and residential complex. SBMAs will be installed for the foundation support system in ground conditions described as very soft clayey silt and clay. Preliminary tests, used to demonstrate anchor execution techniques and quantify in situ bond stress, have proved satisfactory and should pave the way for a successful project.

SBMA Ltd wish to take this opportunity to thank Kasktas A.S. and in particular Dr Rasin Duzceer for the tremendous efforts put into securing these contracts.
