Dr Mothersille delivers a lecture at the prestigious Russian Geotechnical Research Institute in Moscow (NIIOSP). The lecture addressed the challenges encountered when anchoring in soils and weak rocks.

After successfully completing the course of study Dr Devon Mothersille was awarded the Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (LETAPAEWE). This accredited by Edexcel at Level 7 (Masters Level).

November 2010

Dr Devon Mothersille delivers the keynote lecture entitled 'Ground Anchors - the current state of practice and recent developments' to the ADSC Anchored Earth Retention Seminar and Exhibits. Boston, MA, USA.

Geoserve Global Ltd played a significant role in the International conference on Ground Anchorages and Anchored Structures in Service, Institution of Civil Engineers, London, 26-27 November 2007. The director's were the largest contributors to the conference proceeding having authored and co-authored a total of eight technical papers between them (see list of publications).

Technical visit to South Korea
Dr Devon Mothersille (second from the right) with members of the team at South Korean consultancy Geotechnical Monitoring Group (GMG). Three years of collaboration between Geoserve Global Ltd and GMG has resulted in the creation of a new company Geotechnical Monitoring Grp Europe Ltd (GMGE). GMGE have acquired a license to distribute and commission real-time monitoring technology in Europe, USA, South  Africa, Australia and New Zealand.


October 2006

Dr Devon Mothersille recently collaborated with Ove Arup in Hong Kong and joined a special delegation to China in order to exchange geotechnical engineering knowledge and explore new market opportunities. Dr Mothersille delivered a presentation at Tongi University, in Shanghai, on ground anchor technology with particular reference to the Single Bore Multiple Anchor System.

Dr Mothersille also delivered a special lecture to the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers at City University (Hong Kong) entitled 'Maintenance testing and service behaviour monitoring of permanent of ground anchors'

Shanghai, China
Dr Devon Mothersille joined a special delegation from Hong Kong on a technical visit to Shanghai, China. During this time he delivered presentations on ground anchor technology to a University in Shanghai and also to the Institution of Civil Engineers in Hong Kong.

Dr Devon Mothersille will represent Geoserve Global at the International Conference on Slopes held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr Mothersille presented two papers:

  • Predicting slope failure using the TRS sensor
  • The actively stressed soil nail system

July 2006

Dr Devon Mothersille was Chairman of Ground Engineering's Slope Engineering Conference held at The Olympia Conference, London. The conference successfully addressed the theme - practical solutions for effective slope stabilisation, reinforcement and remediation.


August 2005

Dr Devon Mothersille and Tony Barley have made a major contribution to the 'CIRIA Report on Good Soil Nailing Practice'. A series of joint papers by Barley, Mothersille and Littlejohn with more detailed summary of 'Durability and Degradation of Soil Nails' and 'Corrosion Protection methods related to risk categories associated with slope failure', will be published in 2006. The potential of the new Actively Stressed Soil Nail is acknowledged in the CIRIA report.


November 2004

The Anchorman and the "support team" received the Institution of Civil Engineer's award for their paper "Chalk anchorages: exhumation, load transfer mechanism and design guidelines". The winners of this prestigious award, the Coopers Hill War Memorial Prize, were Tony Barley, Dr Devon Mothersille and Dr Rohan Weerasinghe.

Dr Devon Mothersille visits Mumbai, India
Dr Mothersille visited the school of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology. During the visit he delivered lectures to the students and senior lecturers on specialist ground anchor technology and applications. He also presented the merits of ground anchor and soil nailing technology to major Indian contractor Larsen and Toubro Ltd.
