I’m absolutely thrilled to share that AnchorTest® has been named Digital Tool of the Year at the GeoTech Awards 2026.
Last night at the Kia Oval, surrounded by some of the most talented people and innovative organisations in our industry, I had the honour of accepting this award. The shortlist was full of outstanding work, so hearing AnchorTest® announced as the winner was a moment I won’t forget.
When I first set out to develop AnchorTest®, the goal was simple: to bring a specialist, traditionally paper-heavy geotechnical activity into the digital age. Anchor testing deserved tools that matched the precision and importance of the work itself. Seeing that vision recognised by the judges and my peers means more than I can put into words.
I was especially proud of the judges’ comments, which described AnchorTest® as “an excellent submission showcasing the successful automation of anchor testing and the modernisation of a specialist geotechnical activity through real-time digital workflows and cloud-based collaboration.” They also highlighted its deployment across the UK and internationally, and its active use on major projects, as strong evidence of its “scalability, industry relevance, and credibility,” calling it “a compelling example of how digital innovation can transform a specialist geotechnical process and deliver tangible benefits in real-world project environments.“
That last point matters most to me. AnchorTest® was built to make a real difference on real sites, and this award belongs as much to the engineers, contractors and clients who use it every day as it does to the people who created it.
I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team at hetGE, whose programming expertise turned the concept into a robust, practical tool. Thank you also to the GeoTech Awards judges and organisers, to everyone who supported our submission, and congratulations to all the fellow finalists and winners on the night.
This recognition is a tremendous encouragement, and we’re more motivated than ever to keep developing AnchorTest® and pushing the industry towards a more efficient, connected and data-driven future.
