Dr Mothersille successfully delivers a three-day course on ground anchoring and post-grouting methods — June 2026

Following a visit to Chilean foundation contractor Pangea Geotecnia in Concepción in January 2026, Dr Mothersille was invited to deliver a three-day online course to key Pangea personnel, covering ground anchoring, with particular reference to Single Bore Multiple Anchor (SBMA) technology, and post-grouting methods.

The course went beyond the classroom: it also included a field demonstration, which Dr Mothersille supervised remotely via live video stream. Remarkably, both the classroom sessions and the on-site work were conducted with real-time English-to-Spanish translation throughout.

Special thanks are due to José Quiroz Olmos (Project Engineer, Pangea) for his tremendous efforts in translating more than 10 hours of dialogue across the sessions, and to Dalton Anziana Godoy (Project Engineer, Pangea) for coordinating the test anchor configuration and ordering materials and equipment.

Finally, our thanks go to Rafael Martinez Ascencio (CEO, Pangea) and Roberto Contreras Gatica (COO, Pangea) for supporting this initiative. With their enhanced knowledge of ground anchoring and post-grouting methods, and their status as the exclusive Licensees of SBMA technology in the region, Pangea Geotecnia is well-placed to deliver successful projects.
